Trade Fabrication Systems secured the coveted Quality Excellence Award 2017 at the prestigious annual WPA Award Ceremony. This year the WPA Award event was held at Breadsall Priory – Derby. The WPA Award cited our ‘outstanding’ attention to detail for factory applied surface treatments. TFS beat many of the UK’s leading timber companies.

TFS quality procedures are at the heart of our service proposition. This ensures our clients are presented with coated products that are fabricated consistently to the manufacturers specification. This includes paints, preservatives, lacquers and fire retardant coatings.

TFS also secured a ‘Finalist’ nomination in the ‘Treated Wood Trader of the Year 2017’ category. This marked our unique partnership with PFS Coatings and Meyer Timber in relation to the factory applied fire retardant coating ProStructFR®.

Fire retardant coating with retained structural integrity

TFS worked closely with PFS Coatings to develop a factory applied surface treatment – ProStructFR®. This satisfies the stringent demands of Euro Class ‘B’ Fire Retardant CE2+ Structural. The aim is to offer a fully certified fire resistant, low smoke emitting, durable panel. It also has the crucially important benefit of ‘retained structural integrity’ for CE marking purposes. Following extensive testing at Exova BM TRADA and Exova Warrington Fire to provide third party certification, TFS/PFS sought a suitable distribution partner. The partner needed to provide national coverage and unrivalled technical diligence. In stepped Meyer Timber who now hold stock across their UK depots of FireSure Premium – 2400x1200x18mm PEFC Meyer Firesure ProStruct FR® Spruce Plywood, E1 EN13501-1 Euroclass B Type HR CE2+.
